The current employment trend in Australia is looking positive as the number of jobseekers in the employment hunt has climbed to 3.2 jobseekers for each job vacancy compared to 3.0 for the last year, according to national statistics. This mean’s that there are now more employment opportunities in Australia, but you need to know which States offer the best paying jobs in the country. This is quite important for those who are planning to migrate to Australia in the hopes of starting fresh and grab more opportunities.

In South Australia, statistics show that for there are five job seekers competing for each job vacancy. Not a very good sign, since it is almost double the number of job seekers compared to the statistics a year ago, where there are only 2.8 unemployed people competing for a job vacancy. Tasmania has 6.2 jobseekers competing for each vacant position.

For immigrants who want to have the best possible chance of getting a job, you may want to go to Western Australia. Statistics show that there are only 1.5 jobseekers for every available vacancy. The reason for employment in WA and economic success is mainly due to multi-billion mining projects. Mining boosted to over 18% compared to finance and insurance, which is only at 6%. The official unemployment rate for Australia is at 5.3%, but figures from Roy Morgan suggest that unemployment affects 16.8% of the total work force in the country. That’s 2.01 million Australians who are looking for a job or are coping with the hardships of living unemployed.
